While serving as Senior Vice President of People & Communications at Sarnoff Corporation, Princeton, NJ, I became increasingly interested in the "employees first"  concept. This involves producing better business results by putting employees' needs above all other missions of the organization.  If employees are treated well and are excited about their work, all other constituents (customers and others) will be better served.  After all, how could a bored, unhappy employee be convincingly service oriented with customers or constituents?
